D & P Communications is excited to bring even more value to local sports fans with the addition of the Detroit Sports Network to our channel lineup. This new offering delivers comprehensive coverage of two of Michigan’s most beloved teams—the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings—right to your home.
With the launch of Detroit Sports Network, customers can now enjoy dedicated channels for both teams:
Tigers TV will be available on Channel 128
Red Wings TV will be available on Channel 130
As we finalize the rollout, Tigers’ games will temporarily air on Channel 22, giving all D & P Cable customers a limited-time opportunity to catch the first few games as a free preview. Once Channel 128 is fully operational, Tigers’ coverage will move to its permanent home.
This addition enhances the viewing experience for sports fans by offering more direct and reliable access to live games and team coverage. Customers who subscribe to applicable cable packages will automatically benefit from this expanded content.
Please note that there will be a price increase for cable TV packages containing these channels. D & P Communications worked diligently to secure this programming at competitive rates, ensuring customers receive substantial value compared to alternative viewing options. If our customers were to pay for the streaming app, they would incur a higher total cost than the price increase we are adding to their bills. We also advocated on behalf of our customers by requesting that the previous programmer lower D & P’s contractual rate, since they are losing a substantial portion of their major programming. Unfortunately, they are unwilling to renegotiate rates with us (or any other provider) at this time.
As part of this channel adjustment, D & P is also adding the NHL Network, on channel 208, to select cable packages. Customers with Premium or Prestige tiers will gain access just in time for the excitement of the NHL playoffs and the race for the Stanley Cup, bringing even more hockey coverage to your screen.
