The holiday season is upon us and with that, we have themed televised entertainment. Christmas movies, cartoons of all kinds, and holiday specials are set to air all the way through New Year’s Eve. Here’s a look at what is coming this season to your TV schedule.
The 97th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade airs on NBC Thanksgiving Day, November 23rd, from 8:30 AM to noon with performances by Cher, En Vogue, and Brandy to name a few. Also, there is the Detroit Thanksgiving Day Parade presented by Gardner White on WDIV-TV in Detroit. The pre-parade coverage begins at 9:00 AM and the parade airs live from 10:00 AM to noon on Thanksgiving morning. Don’t forget to watch the Detroit Lions play on Fox at 12:30 PM.
A 24-hour Elf marathon is set to air on TBS starts at 8:00 PM on Black Friday, November 24th. A Christmas Vacation marathon airs on TNT starts Saturday, November 25th at 10:00 PM and continues for 24 hours into Sunday, November 26th.
The 91st Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting is on the Wednesday after Thanksgiving, November 29th at 9:00 PM on NBC. This historical lighting of the Christmas tree in New York City hosted this year by Kelly Clarkson brings all kinds of people together with festive music along with a performance by the Radio City Rockettes.
ABC’s Home for the Holidays Schedule begins Sunday, November 26th with the Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration with musical performances from Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disney’s Aulani Resort and Spa in Hawaii. Freeform’s 25 Days of Christmas begins Friday, December 1st with Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch and goes through Monday, December 25th with some Christmas classics including Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town. This month there are also multiple chances to enjoy Home Alone and The Santa Clause movie trilogies.
